So, I'm trying to describe this comedian whose name has completely slipped my mind. I say everything I can about what I know he looks like, he's Scottish, he has dark hair, thick rimmed glasses. His jokes are often outrageous. He's sometimes on Mock The Week? Or Have I Got News For You? Or Never Mind The Buzzcocks? One of them...
I even drew him from memory in my diary to see if they could pick out a face they recognised in the scribble.
You know when you just can't remember something, no matter how small or trivial, but it bugs you so much that you can't even hold a conversation without bursting with frustration and saying over and over again how you know what the answer is, it's on the tip of your tongue, you can even see the answer written in your mind's eye but it's just out of reach in your peripheral vision; your brain is too busy working overtime in the depths of your mind, picking through every unimportant folder of information to find the name of this Scottish, dark haired comedian with thick rimmed glasses.
I think the feeling of finally unlocking the answer from somewhere in your subconcious, without looking it up, no matter how long it takes you, is unbelievably satisfying.
Either it proved too much for my brain or the people I was with got fed up of listening to me whine about how annoying it was that I couldn't remember, but we ended up having to use the internet on a mobile phone to get his name.
