I really like the style of the marketing and design surrounding Arcade Fire's new album; I love the typography for the new logo and the handwritten aspect goes perfectly with the idea of nostalgia that surrounds the album itself. The whole theme of the album revolves around the idea of childhood and of the place where they grew up, hence the title, The Suburbs, and it's quite conceptual, meaning you should really listen to it the whole way through from start to finish (rather than on shuffle) to fully appreciate it. Even before listening to the album you get a sense of what the music might be portraying just from the design of the album cover, or any of the images that have been used in the advertising campaign for the album's release; they bring to mind memories of old faded photographs or projected slides of half-remembered neighbourhoods.
