VISIT THIS EXHIBITION

If only for the 'Garden Of Eden': A maze room which looks like it's been lifted straight out of Avatar. Okay, well it's not quite as magical as that would imply, but it really is an experience. I've been to this exhibition a couple of times now and it's so relaxing to find the middle of the maze (also, not quite as difficult as I've made it sound) and just sit there for ages listening to the whirr and clicks of the fibre optics. If only there was a real place in a forest somewhere, where there was a maze of plants that actually glowed, I don't think I'd ever leave.
It's part of an eccentric exhibition called 'I Will Survive' by Portuguese artist Joana Vasconcelos, on at the Haunch Of Venison.
Another amazing exhibition on at the moment.
It's great that there's always so much going on in London; I always feel like a tourist whenever I go into Central London even though I've lived here my whole life. When you enter the museum you pick up a map which shows you where all the installations for the exhibition are hidden. I say "hidden", they weren't actually hidden, but as I was so immensely excited by the concept I took it to be very much like a treasure hunt. They're all small spaces, some which you can crawl into and explore and others you can climb up into and admire. From a floating Japanese hut, to narrow corridors and small hideouts inspired by unauthorised dwellings in Mumbai.
I love exhibitions that give me an excuse to run around a museum like a massively excited child.
