I had been waiting to see this since it came out in the cinema and just never got round to it, but it was definitely well worth the wait.
It's a deliciously quirky retake on the romcom, interspersed with bits of animation and a fantastic indie soundtrack to match.
It's not your stereotypical love story by any means; as it says on the cover of DVD:
"This is not a love story. It is a story about love."
So it's a boy meets girl story...but contrary to popular belief they don't actually fall in love. Although the boy (played rather adorably by Joseph Gordon-Levitt) unfortunately does.
I think I was expecting something a little more lighthearted, but it's actually quite heartbreaking at times. I won't spoil anything of course, but some bits had me a little misty eyed. And, as with all films that I fall in love with, the cinematography is wonderful.
